There are a handful of ‘original peoples,’ with Baikal being one of the great hubs of life and culture. Much of Asia and all of the Americas were populated by migrations of people from the Baikal region starting at least 21,000 years ago. The closest genetic tracings occur in Northern Asia with the Korean and Japanese peoples and between the indigenous peoples of Australia and South America. Genetic mixing along the routes and in following known migrations are clearly uncovered though DNA tracing. What is undoubtable is that what has long been known as one of richest origin stories of humankind is now being told in a much more vivid way through the advances of modern science.
